02/10/2025 - Methods of Completion for the Complementary Educational Activity (AFC) for the Master’s Degree Program in Computer Science

Methods of Completion for the Complementary Educational Activity (AFC) for the Master’s Degree Program in Computer Science
Students have several options to earn the 6 ECTS credits required for an AFC:

  1. choose from the AFCs offered each year by the Degree Program, which include classroom lectures and individual work;
  2. carry out a structured activity proposed by a faculty member, which requires individual work by the student, but no classroom lectures;
  3. agree with a faculty member on a topic for individual work, related to a course taught by the professor or to their research activity;
  4. pass the exam of a course not included in the student's completion plan, which can then be recorded as an AFC;
  5. obtain validation from the Committee for the Recognition of Extracurricular Activities for an activity carried out outside the University, to be recognized as an AFC.

The Complementary Educational Activities offered for the academic year 2025/26 are as follows:
Type 1 AFC – include classroom lectures and individual work:
o Instructor: Mauro Gatti
Title: Laboratory on Life & Soft Skills
Hours of lectures/laboratory: 48
Type 2 AFC – involve a structured activity proposed by a faculty member, without classroom lectures:
o Instructors: Toni Mancini, Enrico Tronci
Title: AI for Design and Verification of Safety/Mission Critical Intelligent Systems
