REQUIREMENTS AND VERIFICATION OF APPROPRIATE PERSONAL PREPARATION

In order to be admitted to the masters degree programme you need to meet the curricular requirements (RC) and have an appropriate personal preparation (APP) including the necessary language skills.
The appropriate personal preparation (APP) takes into consideration two aspects:
(APP-a) Results and relevance of previous studies
(APP-b) Knowledge of Mathematics, Probability and Computer Science.

For the verification of prerequisites and relevance (APP-a) the following will be assessed:
- the final grade obtained in the bachelor's degree and the corresponding grade average (or only the grade point average if the candidate has not yet graduated) with particular attention to the marks obtained in the areas of Mathematics, Probability and Computer Science.
- the relevance of the Bachelor's degree curriculum.

The appropriate personal preparation regarding Mathematics, Probability and Computer Science (APP-b) will take into consideration the knowledge acquired in the following areas:
(APP-b1). Mathematics: Differential and integral calculus for functions of one or more real variables; elements of linear algebra and analytic geometry in the plane.
(APP-b2). Probability: random variables, distributions of expected values; main classes of parametric distributions of random variables; convergence of sequences of random variables.
(APP-b3). Computer Science: Programming principles; at least one programming language amongst C, C++, C#, Java, Python.

The Committee will automatically consider that the (APP-b) requirement is satisfied for students who have acquired at least: Otherwise, students will have to take an online test and, if they pass the test, they will have to attend a final interview in English in order to assess their knowledge (APP-b1, APP-b2, APP-b3) in order to complete the verification of the adequate personal preparation (APP-b).
The verification of the adequate personal preparation, which can only be accessed by students meeting the curricular requirements, can be found in the Course Regulations, available on the course website.
