Complementary Educational Activity (AFC)#

The Complementary Educational Activity (AFC) is a 6-CFU activity in the Master’s Degree Programme in Computer Science. In Italian it is called Attività Formativa Complementare, which explains the acronym AFC used in Infostud and in the curriculum.

How to obtain the 6 CFU#

Students may complete the AFC requirement in one of the following ways:

  1. choose one of the AFCs offered each year by the Degree Programme, combining classroom teaching and individual work;
  2. carry out a structured activity proposed by a lecturer, involving individual work without classroom teaching;
  3. agree with a lecturer on an individual-work topic connected with one of their courses or research activities;
  4. pass an exam for a course outside the study plan and have it officially recorded as an AFC;
  5. request recognition of an activity completed outside the University from the Committee for the Recognition of Extracurricular Activities.

Before starting an individual, external or extra-curricular activity, check the recognition and recording procedure with the lecturer or the competent committee. The activity must ultimately be recorded as the AFC included in your approved study plan.

The activities below are intended for students in the first semester of the second year.

Type 1: classroom teaching and individual work#
