Student Canteens#
Every year DiSCo provides more than one million affordable meals in affiliated canteens and eateries, ensuring quality, health, and a low environmental impact by completely eliminating single-use plastic and using organic, sustainable, and PGI-DOP-STG certified products. Canteens also offer options for vegetarians and celiacs.
University canteens are facilities that allow you to eat at a subsidized price (prices by ISEE bracket can be found on the price ranges page on the DiSCo Lazio website) depending on your university ISEE (Indicator of Equivalent Economic Situation).
To Whom It Is Addressed#
Access to the canteens and refreshment facilities is open to all students regularly enrolled at state and non-state universities, university institutes, and Institutes of High Musical and Choreographic Artistic Education (AFAM) with legal headquarters in the Lazio Region.
Costs and Benefits#
The cost of meals ranges from a minimum of €2.50 to a maximum of €8.40 and is determined by your University ISEE/ISEEUP (check the official price ranges page).
- Eligible students or scholarship winners: Can take advantage of subsidized rates. Meals can be completely free if, at the application stage, no monetization of the service was requested (i.e., choosing to receive the equivalent cash value instead of meals).
- ISEE Submission: Students who are scholarship winners or eligible for a scholarship can complete the new registration for the food service without needing to submit a new University ISEE.
International students must get ISEE only from an affiliated CAF (Fiscal Assistance Center): the full list can be found here. Required documentation to obtain the ISEE can be found on the website of DiSCo Lazio under the heading “Documentazione per il primo accredito di studenti internazionali” (Documentation for first accreditation of international students).
Registration#
The accreditation service is available starting in October each year. Accreditation will be active from October 1 to September 30 of the following year; therefore, at the beginning of each academic year, you must request an update of your accreditation/canteen card.
For a visual step-by-step guide, you can watch the official video tutorial on YouTube.
First things first, register on “Area Riservata” (Restricted Area) of DiSCo Lazio.
Once you access your restricted area, click on “Servizio Mensa” (Canteen Service):

Then, accreditate yourself for the chosen academic year; if you can’t see it among the options, try again after some time: it means that DiSCo Lazio hasn’t published the call yet.
Otherwise, click on “Accreditamento Mensa” (Canteen Accreditation) for the chosen academic year:

Follow the procedure and upload the required documents. It usually requires between 24 and 48 hours for the procedure to be accepted: after that, it will become possible to generate an association QRCode. Once you can generate the QRCode, install “DiSCo Mensa App” on your cellphone:
Finally, using a second device, log into the restricted area, click on “Servizio mensa” and then on “Associazione App Mensa” (Association Canteen App): generate the QRCode and scan it with the device you have installed “DiSCo Mensa App” on.

Now, just show the app at the chosen canteen to obtain a meal at the price of your ISEE range!
